Bible Study
Sunday morning Adult Bible Class at 8:00 am: This class meets each Sunday morning in the fellowship hall below the sanctuary with Pastor Haberkost.
THE LAST TIMES
What happens when a follower of Christ leaves this world?
What occurs when an unbeliever leaves this life?
How near are we to the end of the world?
What will occur in the last days before the world ends?
What will happen when Jesus Christ returns?
Then what? What will we be like?
Come and ponder what great things the Lord will do in the last times!
Thursday mornings at 6:00 am: The men meet in the lobby of the church year round.
1st, 3rd and 5th Wednesday mornings 9:45-11:30 am: The Wednesday morning group is studying 1 Peter. By inspiration of the Holy Spirit, the apostle Peter wrote his first epistle to those concerned about living their Christian faith in a sometimes unreceptive and even hostile environment. Join us as we explore: How God has saved us through Jesus Christ; the comfort and power we receive through the means of grace; and priorities for us as we anticipate Jesus’ return soon. Peter’s words of hope are just as timely today as they were for the believers of the first century who first received them.
This class meets in the fellowship hall of the church. Cost for this class is $3. Please call Judy Mueller: 630-964-3376, or Ruta Jensen: 630-325-1906 for more information or to sign up so we can get you study booklet to you before the class begins.
Monday Evening 6:45 – 8:45 pm:
“Great Women of the Bible”
In this small-group women’s Bible study, we will look at the lives of the women of the Bible: Michal, Abigail, Bathsheba, Jezebel, The Shunnamite, Esther, Eve, Sarah, Rebekah, Leah and Rachel. We will see God’s grace in action as He calls and leads these women in their daily lives. Through their God-given faith and their faith-filled deeds, you will be inspired by these women of the Bible. And, we will learn from one of the most wicked women in the Bible how dangerous it is to take sin lightly.
The Bible not only gives us the names of these great women, but also describes their sorrows and joys, their defeats and victories, their intense private moments and important public duties. In contrast to the inaccurate myth that the Bible is an antiquated piece of misogynistic literature, the Bible portrays women as God’s creatures, different yet fully equal with men, fallen in sin yet redeemed by the blood of the Lamb.
We will meet in the gathering area off of Grant Street. Cost for this class will be $4. Please call the church office at 630-323-0384 to let us know you are coming so we can get the materials to you.
